• 1987

  Group formation and beginning.

  Group formation

  Nirvana was an American rock band formed by singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987.

• 1990

  Nirvana sign with DGC Records.

  Group signed to major Record Label.

  In 1990 Nirvana signed with major label DGC Records. The band subsequently began recording its new album Nevermind, released in Sept' 1991.

• 1994

  Kurt Cobian suicide and end.

  Death and the end of the band

  On April 8, 1994, Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of the grunge band Nirvana, was found dead at his Seattle Home, with a "gunshot wound to the head" and concluded that his death was a suicide.
